Met at Schiphol arrivals and driven south to your address in Bertem
After a long-haul flight the last thing worth organising is transport. Book this leg in advance instead and the whole thing takes about a minute of your time, with confirmation coming back at once, the driver's name, mobile number and registration sent through beforehand, and the car visible on a map when it moves. Everything is priced up front and the phone is answered whatever the hour, which matters when an intercontinental arrival puts you on the ground at six in the morning. Schiphol handles a great many of the world's long flights, so plenty of people bound for the Leuven area land there rather than closer to home, and Bertem is about 185 km south of the terminal. The driver meets you inside arrivals with a board, takes the bags and then heads down through Rotterdam and Breda, over the border and past Antwerp and Mechelen on the E19, before turning off towards the Dijle valley. Reckon on 109 to 135 minutes. What waits at the end is a quiet municipality of three villages, Bertem, Leefdaal and Korbeek-Dijle, the Romanesque Saint Peter's church among the old houses and the Bertembos just beyond, with Leuven and its university a few minutes further on. Researchers, visiting families and returning residents all use this run for the same reason: sleeping in the back of a car beats hauling suitcases between trains. A taxi from Amsterdam Schiphol to Bertem starts at €322 for a vehicle carrying up to three people.

Transparent Pricing
The journey from Amsterdam Schiphol to Bertem is priced from €322, covering the vehicle for up to three travellers rather than charging per seat. Your exact fare depends on the address you are heading for and the number of passengers, and you see it in the booking module before confirming.
Watching your flight in real time is part of it, as is the hour of free waiting after touchdown should immigration or the baggage belt hold you up. Cancel up to 24 hours ahead at no cost. The quote given at booking is what is due at the end of the drive, and child seats can be added on request.
Why Book the Schiphol Run in Advance?
Stepping into an arrivals hall in another country with your name already on a board makes the difference between a journey and an ordeal. The driver is waiting, the luggage goes in, and two hours later you are at your own address in Bertem. It is a Belgian family firm with ten years and more of airport work behind it, no intermediary taking a slice, and the amount is settled long before you land.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I recognise my driver at Schiphol?
He stands in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name printed on it, in view of the doors you come through after collecting your bags. No Java Coffee meeting point here, that is Brussels.
What if I am held up at passport control or baggage reclaim?
The landing time is tracked from the flight number and the driver stays for up to an hour after touchdown without charging for it, which normally covers a slow belt or a long queue.
How long does it take to reach Bertem from the terminal?
Between 109 and 135 minutes for 185 km, traffic permitting. The busiest stretches are around Rotterdam and Antwerp.
Can the driver drop me in Leuven or at a campus address instead?
Enter whatever destination you need when booking. The module recalculates for that address and the price you confirm is the one for that drop-off.
Do you also meet flights arriving in the middle of the night?
Yes. Early arrivals and night landings are covered the same way, weekends and public holidays included.
What is the fare and how do I pay after a long flight?
From €322 for the car. You can hand it to the driver in cash or by card at the end, or pay online in advance so that nothing needs doing on arrival.
